Sketching

from rough drafts to quiet daily observations

these sketches capture how I think on paper before anything becomes real

Project drafts: early concept sketches

These sketches prioritize speed and idea generation over polish, while most of the real work happens in my head. I use quick, simple lines to anchor the ideas I’m already developing mentally.

Sketching helps me test proportions, relationships, and overall composition so I can refine the draft I’m building in my mind.

observations: everyday drawing practice

I began improving my sketching by intentionally observing objects and rooms.

I practiced drawing corners of rooms, window frames and furniture from different viewpoints, focusing on how lines converge and how objects relate to each other in space.

reflection

Through these sketches of everyday objects and rooms, I’m training myself to see structure, proportion, and light more clearly so my project drafts become more confident and precise.
